How it works

From “anyone up for this?”
to an actual plan.

01

Broadcast an intent

Say what you're up for — gym, coffee, a study session. It's live for a short window, not a permanent post.

02

Catch the match

Orbit surfaces the people around you whose plans line up with yours, the moment they do.

03

Coordinate in a burner chat

A chat opens to sort out the where and when. Plan made, chat cleared — it's not another inbox.

Built honestly

The opposite of doomscrolling.

Orbit is a small, focused tool for spontaneous, in-person plans. The product is the plan you made — not the time you spent looking at it.

  • No feed, no ads

No algorithmic ranking fighting for your attention. Orbit is for making plans, not scrolling past them.

  • Your data isn’t for sale

No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. Export or delete everything you’ve ever put in, anytime.

  • Location only while you’re live

Shared only while you’re actively broadcasting, in the foreground — never in the background.

  • Everything expires

Intents end. Burner chats clear. Nothing piles up, and nothing follows you around.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers.

When does Orbit launch?

TUM goes first. We open when the first crews are ready rather than on a marketing date — the waitlist email is the launch announcement, and it's the only email we send.

Which campuses can use it?

TUM first, then campus by campus. Waitlist signups tell us where to go next — sign up with your university email so your campus counts.

Is Orbit free?

Free for students. No ads and your data isn't for sale — the product is the plan you made, not the time you spent looking at it.

Who sees my location?

Location is shared only while you're live — actively broadcasting, with the app in the foreground — and never in the background. Intents expire and burner chats clear; nothing follows you around. Plain-language data summary

Be first on yours.

Leave your email and we'll open the doors to your campus first. (One email when we launch. That's it.)
